For a small superficial cut or scrape, begin by washing your hands. Use gentle running water to rinse away visible dirt. Avoid harsh scrubbing inside the wound.

Covering the wound

Pat the surrounding skin dry and select a clean dressing that covers the area. Replace it when wet, dirty, loose or according to the product instructions.

Monitor healing

Seek medical advice if redness, swelling, warmth, increasing pain, pus, fever or red streaking develops, or when the injury is deep, heavily contaminated or caused by a bite.
